Code of Conduct
Fantasy Forged Code of Conduct
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
Contact: support@fantasyforged.ca
Fantasy Forged is built around five core principles:
Fun. Fairness. Honesty. Respect. Community.
These principles are the foundation of our play space. They apply to everyone in the store, including players, spectators, customers, visitors, staff, event participants, parents, guardians, and guests.
Our goal is simple: everyone should be able to enjoy the store safely, comfortably, and respectfully.
By entering Fantasy Forged, participating in an event, using our play space, or interacting with our community, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.
1. General Expectations
Everyone at Fantasy Forged is expected to:
-
Treat others with respect.
-
Follow store rules and event rules.
-
Listen to staff instructions.
-
Respect personal boundaries.
-
Respect store property and other people's property.
-
Help keep the space clean and welcoming.
-
Avoid behaviour that disrupts another person's experience.
-
Compete fairly and honestly.
-
Support a positive community environment.
Fantasy Forged reserves the right to ask anyone to leave at any time. We may also refuse service, remove a person from an event, suspend store privileges, or prohibit future entry if this Code of Conduct is violated.
2. Fun
Games are meant to be fun.
Your fun should not come at the expense of another person's comfort, safety, or ability to enjoy the space.
Friendly competition, jokes, excitement, and celebration are welcome. Cruelty, intimidation, harassment, bullying, or behaviour that makes others feel unwelcome is not.
3. Fairness
Games stop being fun when people cheat, manipulate rules, or take advantage of others.
Players are expected to compete fairly and follow the rules of the game, event, tournament, and store.
Unfair conduct includes, but is not limited to:
-
Cheating
-
Intentionally misrepresenting rules or card effects
-
Marking cards or manipulating game materials
-
Stalling or intentionally delaying play
-
Distracting an opponent or judge to gain an advantage
-
Taking advantage of inexperienced players through deceptive trades, misinformation, or pressure tactics
-
Exploiting a known rules mistake without making a reasonable effort to correct it
A player should prefer to lose fairly rather than win dishonestly.
4. Honesty
Players are expected to act honestly during games, trades, purchases, events, and community interactions.
If you become aware of a rules mistake, scoring issue, illegal play, or other relevant error during a game or event, you should notify your opponent and, where applicable, a judge or staff member.
Honest mistakes happen. Intentionally hiding, exploiting, or repeating those mistakes may result in penalties or removal from the event or store.
5. Respect
Respect applies to people, property, boundaries, and the shared space.
Players, spectators, customers, staff, visitors, and personal belongings must be treated with care.
Disrespectful behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
-
Insults, slurs, or personal attacks
-
Demeaning comments
-
Mockery or humiliation
-
Aggressive arguing
-
Intimidation
-
Threats
-
Refusing reasonable staff instructions
-
Damaging store property or another person's property
-
Touching another person's belongings without permission
-
Interfering with another person's game, trade, or conversation
6. Inclusion and Non-Discrimination
Fantasy Forged does not tolerate discrimination or hateful conduct.
This includes discrimination, harassment, exclusion, or hostile behaviour based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, body type, language, culture, or any other protected or personal characteristic.
Examples of prohibited behaviour include, but are not limited to:
-
Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory comments
-
Purposeful misgendering
-
Religious discrimination
-
Age-based harassment
-
Mocking accents, disabilities, appearance, or identity
-
Using symbols, clothing, jokes, gestures, or references intended to promote hate or make others feel unsafe
Everyone deserves to feel welcome at the table.
7. Harassment and Unwanted Behaviour
Harassment and behaviour that disrupts another person's experience are prohibited.
This applies whether the behaviour is aimed at one specific person, a group of people, staff, an opponent, a spectator, or the store community generally.
Harassment may include, but is not limited to:
-
Unwanted physical contact
-
Threats
-
Following someone around the store
-
Repeated unwanted conversation or attention
-
Heckling, jeering, or taunting
-
Sexual comments or gestures
-
Invasive personal questions
-
Intimidation or aggressive behaviour
-
Bullying or hazing
-
Retaliation against someone for reporting a concern
If someone tells you they no longer wish to speak with or interact with you, you must respect that immediately.
For ticketed events, required gameplay communication may continue only to the extent necessary to complete the match, and staff may become involved to help manage the situation.
8. Language and Conversation Standards
Fantasy Forged is a public community space used by players of many ages and backgrounds.
The following language is not acceptable:
-
Slurs or hate speech
-
Threats
-
Abusive or aggressive language
-
Sexually explicit language
-
Excessive profanity directed at another person
-
Comments intended to demean, intimidate, or embarrass someone
Casual conversation is welcome, but it must remain appropriate for a shared public play space.
9. Sportsmanship
Winning and losing with grace is part of being a good community member.
Poor sportsmanship can sour an event, discourage new players, and damage the community.
Poor sportsmanship includes, but is not limited to:
-
Berating an opponent after a win or loss
-
Mocking someone's skill level, deck, army, collection, or decisions
-
Rage quitting or intentionally disrupting an event
-
Throwing cards, dice, models, accessories, or other items
-
Refusing a required handshake, score report, judge call, or reasonable event procedure in a disruptive way
-
Complaining aggressively about opponents, staff, judges, pairings, prizing, or rulings
Competitive events can be serious, but they must still be respectful.
10. Community Mindset
Fantasy Forged grows when players help each other enjoy the hobby.
Players are encouraged to:
-
Welcome new players
-
Answer questions when appropriate
-
Share game knowledge respectfully
-
Offer advice after a match when it is welcome
-
Help others find the right event, format, or community
-
Make the store a place people want to return to
You are not responsible for making another player's decisions during a game. However, kindness, patience, and constructive advice help the community grow.
Teaching a new player, helping someone understand a game, or making someone feel included is one of the most valuable things you can do for the community.
11. Trading, Buying, Selling, Solicitation, and Promotion
Fantasy Forged is a retail store and community play space. Outside business activity is not permitted without written approval from Fantasy Forged management.
The following are not allowed without permission:
-
Selling cards, sealed product, games, accessories, miniatures, or other items in the store
-
Buying products from other customers in the store for personal gain or resale
-
Promoting another store, event, venue, business, marketplace, or sales channel
-
Soliciting customers for outside sales, services, subscriptions, or events
-
Using Fantasy Forged events or play space to conduct private business
Trading between players is generally allowed, but trades must be fair, honest, and free from pressure or deception.
Predatory trading, misleading newer players, hiding relevant card information, pressuring someone into a trade, or using misinformation for personal gain is not acceptable.
Fantasy Forged staff may intervene in trades or sales activity if there are concerns about fairness, pressure, theft, fraud, disruption, or policy violations.
12. Theft and Property Protection
Theft is not tolerated.
This includes theft of store property, personal property, lost items, cards, sealed product, accessories, bags, miniatures, or any other belongings.
It also includes dishonest behaviour intended to take another person's property or value through deception, pressure, or knowingly unfair conduct.
Fantasy Forged may respond to suspected theft by:
-
Asking questions about the incident
-
Reviewing available information
-
Asking a person to return or identify property
-
Asking a person to leave
-
Suspending or banning the person from the store
-
Contacting law enforcement where appropriate
Theft may result in a minimum 180-day ban, longer suspension, permanent ban, and/or a report to local law enforcement, depending on the circumstances.
Fantasy Forged may ask to inspect bags, boxes, cases, containers, or personal items when there is a reasonable concern involving store property, event materials, or another person's belongings. Refusal may result in removal from the store, refusal of service, or involvement of the appropriate authorities.
13. Safety, Weapons, Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking, and Vaping

Serious violations may result in suspension, permanent banning, and/or law enforcement involvement where appropriate.
14. Horseplay and Physical Behaviour

Fantasy Forged is a shared public space. Everyone is expected to maintain reasonable personal hygiene.
If a person's hygiene creates a significant disruption or health concern for others, staff may speak with them privately and may ask them to leave and return another time.
Please help keep the space comfortable for everyone.
16. Food, Drinks, and Cleanliness
Outside food and drinks may be allowed at staff discretion.
Refillable water bottles are allowed.
Food and drink rules may vary depending on the event, product areas, table space, spill risk, and store needs.
Customers are encouraged to purchase snacks and drinks in-store when available, as this helps support the play space.
Everyone is expected to clean up after themselves.
Please:
-
Throw out garbage
-
Recycle where appropriate
-
Clean up spills immediately or notify staff
-
Keep food and drinks away from cards, miniatures, sealed product, and other people's belongings

17. Tables, Seating, and Scheduled Events
Scheduled events take priority over casual play and walk-in games.
Staff may move, reseat, or consolidate players to support scheduled events, capacity needs, tournament pairings, accessibility needs, or store operations.
Players may not reserve tables by leaving belongings at a table and then leaving the store.
Unattended belongings may be moved by staff if needed to free seating or protect property.
Please be considerate of other players waiting for space.
18. Store Property and Play Space Use
Please treat the store, tables, chairs, terrain, displays, washrooms, fixtures, products, and event materials with respect.
Do not damage, misuse, move, or alter store property without permission.
Please ask staff before moving tables, chairs, terrain, displays, signage, or event materials.
Customers may be responsible for damage caused by careless, reckless, or intentional behaviour.
19. Event Rules and Staff Decisions
Players must follow the rules of the game, tournament organizer, event software, official organized play program, and Fantasy Forged staff.
Staff, judges, tournament organizers, or event runners may issue instructions, warnings, penalties, match losses, disqualifications, removals, or other event actions where appropriate.
Fantasy Forged may apply different enforcement levels depending on the event type. Casual learn-to-play events, weekly casual nights, competitive tournaments, and major events may have different expectations around rules enforcement, pace of play, deck legality, proxies, sportsmanship, and prizing.
Staff decisions are final for store operations and event participation.
